BRH ENDOWMENT
For the past 30 years, BRH Endowment has supported the rehabilitative needs of our community. BRH Endowment had supported Bacharach Institute for Rehabilitation, Renaissance Pavilion and numerous ambulatory centers in the area, enabling local residents to receive top-notch services and programs not otherwise available. Support has also included educational, research, clinical and cutting-edge technologies.
As we looks toward the future, we will focus on the expansion of our charitable funding through educational, clinical, scientific and research activities designed to touch more lives and support healthcare and educational and research initiatives in nearby communities.
BACHARACH ENDOWMENT HISTORY
More than 100 years ago, the Bacharach family, with considerable community support, established a center dedicated to improving the quality of life for children with physical disabilities. Offering new, never before seen, state-of-the art rehabilitative services, Bacharach, in collaboration with the medical community, provided expert care for the children of South Jersey and the mid-Atlantic region in a nurturing environment.
Family Legacy
The Bacharach family first began making a difference in southern New Jersey in the 1870s, when Betty and Jacob Bacharach moved to Atlantic City and opened a retail store.
The Bacharachs had five children: three sons and two daughters, Bertha and Ray.
One of Betty and Jacob’s sons, Harry Bacharach, was elected twice as Mayor of Atlantic City.
Another one of the Bacharach’s sons, Isaac, served in Congress for 22 years and was the ranking member of the House Ways and Means Committee.
Their third son, Benjamin, served as president of a local bank for many years.
